Quote from STROBE :Thanks Speedy. Yes, A700 is the Sony Alpha 700. Absolutely cracking camera - most comfortable, fast and intuitive thing I've ever held. And I've only had it a week!

The Tamron 90mm macro I've had a little longer - it's full frame, with full 1:1 reproduction ratio at closest focus. Bit slow to focus but otherwise great, and brilliant value for money.

Since you were able to use the Tammy on whatever you had previously, I take it you had another Sony/Minolta? Or does the Sony system accept other mounts?

Thanks,

Quote from Tweaker :Took my friends D70 to Laguna Seca a few weekends ago, got some nice pics I think

Awesome shots from the corkscrew, man! I really want to get out there at some point. Maybe ALMS in October.
Where in California are you?

@STROBE - thanks, mate, and good stuff coming from you, too. #5 is my favorite! That Tamron is doing a mightly nice job. What's the full specs on it? And A700 = Sony Alpha 700?

A BMW 2002 that I saw on the street this Monday.

It's a bit difficult to get the angles right though.

Medicine, certainly. I'm saying this as an engineer (mechanical). I won't say that getting my degrees was easy, but you have to go through more stuff in pre-med and medical school. Besides, I hate memorization.

Sheesh, what are these guys smoking?! Every time I need to download something from rshare they have a new version of this crap. But the current one just takes the cake. Next thing you know, they'll ask you to enter characters where the cat is a male.illepall

Quote from Degats :The g-meter has been around for quite a while (long as I remember - not sure when I first noticed it though).
It appears at the bottom of the ingame F9 screen (tyre temp/wear etc).
The change in Y19 is simply a different font which looks like a 5x7 LED matrix type display to make it fixed-width and therefore neater.

Speaking of g-meters, do you guys think that it'd be more visually intuitive to have a "moving dot" type of display like the ones seen in F1 onboard footage? I couldn't find an actual image, but something that looks like this:

Scawen - would this be difficult to implement? Thanks in advance!

Quote from _--NZ--_[HUN] :If you want to directly edit a parameter just right click on it and type in the exact value. You can also copy a value with CTRL+right click and paste it by pressing Shift+right click.

Holy cow!!! I've been playing LFS for over a year and this is big big news to me. Thanks!

FCS13 - great skins, mate. Loving this and the Jagermeister.

Can you do an E30 M3 Warsteiner skin for the FXR? If not, I'll have a go at it myself, as I've been planning to for a while

Great job, Scawen and the team. The menu is really nice, and the replay controls are very helpful. Thanks a billion!

But while we're on the subject of menus, I'm wondering if it's possible to make parameter values in the setups directly editable, rather than controlled by sliders. I.e. if I want a 1.345 ratio for 4th gear, I just click the value and type it in, rather than move the slider, since the latter is not always precise.

Either that, or you can make the whole thing a bit more realistic by specifying a minimum possible increment in adjustments (i.e. the ratios can be changed only by 0.05, instead of 0.001). Perhaps, I'm just nitpicking though

Quote from Sponge :That's bit of an understatement.. it looks crap.. and the carbon texture is waaaayyy too big..

the rest of the skin is pretty nice though

Yeah, their hired paint shop was crap. And the carbon fibre fabricators...they were from Top Gear

All valid points though, I've fixed the skins.

My first public skin. It's based largely on the Ferrari 550 of Larbre Competition from the 2005 FIA GT season. The 1024 version is already on LFS world.

P.S. yellow headlights not included

edit: skins were updated

I messed with my old profiler (don't know which version it was) yesterday and today the wheel wasn't working in LFS (pedals were, so were the buttons, but on turning the wheel, nothing was happening). So I uninstalled the old one and installed the new one (5.02) that I downloaded from Logitech. Seems to work now.

Thanks, man. This works beautifully!

Though it will cover the interior thing too :/

It colors the instrument panel glass, but seems to have no effect on the headlight cover.

Quote from jonny dank :
You should try using a blue-ish?white-ish color for the bulbs for a kind a HID look

That may actually be something to do as an update. Several different variants and all. I'm sure if the cover dds is found we would get a whole new slew of headlight designs

Quote from FL!P :Well, that's how it's done IRL (or was, when the French were required to use yellow headlights).

It may be, however on modern GT racing cars, I think the headlight cover itself is also yellow. For an example, see the F430GT

or the 997 911

Hi guys,

Thought I'd contribute something to the community, instead of merely taking stuff away

Here are a set of yellow headlights for XF/XFR, UF/UFR, RB4 and FZ/FZR, modeled after those used in gt racing (http://fiagt.com/gallerypic.ph ... p;season=2008&event=1)

Illustrative screenshots are included.
Unfortunately, I'm not able to alter the headlight cover itself, so I recolored the lightbulbs only. If anyone knows which dds file controls the cover color, let me know.

Comments/feedback appreciated.

Quote from Stigpt :They have a couple of kanards on each side of the front bumper - thats whats adjustable.

I've noticed those, but even if you're right, are they perhaps too effective? For example, +1deg on front gives you ~30N of downforce on FZR, while +1deg in the rear gives you ~40-50N.

Now, the rear wing suffers from the developing turbulent flow over the body of the car so its effect is reduced. But the surface area of the rear wing is way, way bigger than that of the front canards, so I'm rather skeptical of the effects they produce even if they are adjustable.
